Christmas Memories part 2
Your mom and I always dreamed of the family that we would have. Dreamed and Prayed. You all took awhile to show up. Early on we were scared that there was something wrong with us and that was why we were not successfully pregnant yet. Turned out that it is not really up to us to determine those kinds of things, it was a tough lesson to learn. Ultimately when we finally discovered Hannah in Momma's oven we were settled in a much better place than when we had started.
Like the marvel multiverse so much could have changed. But this isn't that so like Aslan told Lucy in Prince Caspian after she failed to follow Aslan at first and wanted to know what would have happened if she had, “To know what would have happened, child?" said Aslan. "No. Nobody is ever told that.”
― C.S. Lewis, Prince Caspian
That very first Christmas with the 3 of us was MAGICAL! It was our 2nd Christmas in the house and you made out like a bandit. You were the first Norman grandchild and well, like the 4th or 5th Hodges one. I need to find a picture. Hang on.
I am shocked---I cannot find anything from that first year Hannah!!! I am so sorry, here are some from 06, this is Julias first Christmas, and at only 2 months old I am sure it was memorable. And I believe the top one is Bubbas first Christmas. I love these old pictures, we had no idea what we were doing but we knew that everything would be ok. Somehow, through everything that has happened, good and especially bad, God has given us peace eventually--admittedly it took a few days on occasion. Never the less, this is what it means to believe, to have faith. It is more than church on Sundays, and high holy days, it is that daily affirmation, "Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed by thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heave. Grant us this day our daily bread and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory for ever and ever amen."
It is celebrating daily what Jesus did on Christmas, the ultimate gift, the perfect lamb.
I leave you with more crazy old pictures!!!
