Christianity isn't boring
In his book, THE WEIGHT OF GLORY, C.S. Lewis writes:
We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.”
In your life there will be opportunities for these things that the world around us say will bring pleasure and happiness and make us feel good. Believe me, I have experienced the pull and to my shame I have gone with it, I have pursued the easy offerings the world has to offer. What C.S. Lewis writes is a harsh reminder that not only am I too easily pleased I have a short term memory problem and lack faith. See, God offers us so much more to life, all you have to do is open the Bible and read, you will see joy and adventure, treasure and love, laughter and life! Sure there is tragedy, but every life has that, and with the promises God has laid out for us the tragedy doesn't really sting too bad.
God made you to worship Him. The music flows through our bodies in waves causing our hearts to race. The views flow through our mind in a cascade of colors, shapes and majestic grace. The stars, far flung and so bright as to be seen billions of miles away holding mysteries only their creator can see and enjoy, holding the wonder of creation and the the glory of the one who created us with his hands.
I didn't take any of the pictures, they are just for illustration purposes--don't tell on me.
As beautiful as these picture are, they still reflect a fallen world. Heaven will be perfect.
If you are anything like me, and sorry, you three are all in one way or another, like me, then music will help you heal. When I am stressed, tired, frustrated or anxious, songs put my heart at ease.
