This website has been a long time coming. So, to Geremy and Alice who insisted I try and find a home online, thank you. When I was young my dad worked at KNIS in Carson City, Nevada. He was at times the overnight guy for this small Christian Radio Station situated on a hill on the western edge of this small Capital city.
Dad would occasionally allow one of his children (I am one of 3 boys) to join him for his overnight where we would spend a few minutes in the studio next door listening with the cheap yellow foam headphones on while we watched our father in the next room play 8 tracks and LP's and occasionally give a stinger or a weather update. I can still smell the studio, the mic, the bad coffee. In the hall, reel to reels ran down the small corridor for those times when the station would play their long form programs. We were not allowed to look at those machines.
In college I got the radio bug myself and started playing in the studios with audio production and music. Life has a way of changing our plans though.
I never made it onto the radio, at least not yet and not in this market, though you could have heard me in Missoula! But a caught the audiobook bug and I love reading in my little studio into my own mic while my children sit behind me trying to be quiet and not really paying attention to what I am reading so much as just listening to my voice.
I carry them to be when they start snoring.
This blog is meant to be a landing place who may have heard one of my books (they get better-I promise) or one of my spots.
I look forward to seeing how I can help you.
